Born in southeastern France, surrounded by the French Alps, Carla Donatelli grew up in Grenoble within a French-Italian family where craftsmanship and traditional handwork were deeply rooted.

From an early age, she was immersed in artisanal techniques and developed a profound respect for the work of the hand.

Guided by her paternal grandmother, who inherited the craft from her own mother, Carla discovered sewing and made it the foundation of a lifelong passion.

​

At ten, she created her first sketches. From then on, drawing became her way of imagining and shaping a world of her own. Her vision quickly developed into a distinctive design language : one driven by imagination, transformation and a desire to bring a sense of spectacle to the garment.

​

Today, she explores the transformation of materials, challenges perception and creates silhouettes that seem to transcend the ordinary, belonging to another world.

In 2015, she took her first steps into the world of Haute Couture at the House of Schiaparelli, before continuing her training through apprenticeships at Azzaro and then Stéphane Rolland.

​

She then joined the Haute Couture program at the Chambre Syndicale in Paris, where she further refined her expertise in the métiers d’art, garment construction, and the exacting standards required for exceptional pieces.

​

In 2021, she became an independent couturière and began collaborating with several renowned fashion houses, including Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, and Chanel.

These experiences shaped her creative language and gradually established a distinctive personal vision of Couture and luxury.

Drawing on this rich background, she founded her own Maison, where craftsmanship, imagination, and excellence come together to bring to life a singular vision of Haute Couture.

Maison Donatelli was born from Carla’s heritage, memory, and transmission. Named after her family and late father, the House carries a deeply personal legacy, reinterpreted through a contemporary vision of Couture.

a dialogue between the grandeur of Antiquity, artistic heritage, and modern femininity. Each creation is meticulously crafted as a singular work of art, where exceptional savoir-faire meets emotion, strength, and individuality.Rather than simply dressing the body, Maison Donatelli seeks to reveal the woman within: her character, grace, mystery, and freedom.

In 2023, the House and its distinctive creative universe were recognized by the French national press, including Oniriq by Forbes, marking an important step in the emergence of Carla’s voice within contemporary Couture.
